Plain Sight

You must really enjoy the pain.
It's been x amount of time and you're still hung up. Well, shoot. Good for you! How does it feel?
Like hell, maybe? Every time you think of how deeply you feel, but how far you are from having that thing you care so deeply for....is it like that ocean that you can hear, that you can smell, that you can practically taste in the air, but that you can simply not find with your eyes?
When you lie there, wide awake in the small hours of the late night, unable to sleep for your life, are you remembering all your times together, wishing that they had never come to a screeching halt? Praying, begging the God who gave you that time to give you just a little more, to prove how much it all meant to you? "Just one more eternal summer, God. Please. Just one more."
When you close your eyes, do you see her open hers? Do you hear her laugh, do you smell her perfume, do you taste her lips? When you wake up to feel the empty space next to you and her absence from your everyday life, does it feel like your blood's been drained from your veins? All you can feel is cold, is hollow. Am I off base?
Gol, you must be crazy. Crazy about her. You must be simply throbbing, pulsing with an absolute NEED for her, and only her. You must be waiting...
Waiting. Tick. Tock. Tick. Tock.
Does the clock ever seem to tick so slow that its sound develops this bottomless echo, becomes this reverberating pound?
Now, for one measly tick of the clock, consider the fact that you're waiting for absolutely nothing. That what you think is paradise is actually as barren as tundra?
Consider, for just one second, that you're waiting for a train that was never scheduled to arrive at this station. You're burying your roots in the soils of the future which are still subject to daily shifts and churnings,
While right in front of you...here she is: present day.
Did you ever wonder that by looking so far ahead into the distance, you might miss something in plain sight?
