Wooden Ships

Talkin bout very free and easy:).

I watched the movie Taking Woodstock a couple of days ago. It's so funny to me how music and the mood of a movie can deeply affect and even help change my feelings. Of course the movie is about the road to making Woodstock happen and it involved lots of great music and HIPPIES galore! One of the main characters in the movie (as well as the real life man) who set up the 'three days of peace and music' was named Michael Lang. The thing I loved about him was that he was dealing with the setup of this giant bear of a festival and all the while he was completely chill. He was relaxed and happy throughout ALL the stresses the concert could have brought him....
Wow, that sounds like someone who I would love to be.
I have all these things that could be stressing me out...but why waste my time and add to the knots in my shoulders or the constant headache. Get rid of all that. Relax. That's what I need to do.
Along with all that 'far out' (as Michael Lang would say:) hippie junk...I've been listening to some crazy new (I should really say old) music.
Here's what's new on my iPod this week:
-Freedom by Richie Havens
-Wooden Ships by Crosby, Stills & Nash
-Suite: Judy Blue Eyes by Crosby, Stills & Nash
-Sweet Magnolia by the Grateful Deead
-China Cat Sunflower (Live) by Grateful Dead
-Maggie McGill by the Doors
That's some GREAT hippie tunage:) Which brings up a funny story!

I'm sitting in my room listening to some of this new old music when my dad walks in...
"Okay...what are you doing? You're a teenager so you MUST be doing something evil!" -Dad
*I shake my head innocently*
*He gasps* "You're listening to drug music!"
*I laugh*
"I know what this is! I was around when this music was popular. I never listened to it!" -Dad says sarcastically
*we both laugh*
Then he proceeds to dig his box of records out and we find some of the greats....An original Sgt. Pepper's, Houses of the Holy, and Dark Side of the Moon...of course there were many more.
Anyway:) that's my happy post of the day!
